IVEC 2001
2-4 April 2001
Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin, Noordwijk, The Netherlands
Dear Colleagues,
We are very pleased to invite you at the second International Vacuum Electronics Conference (IVEC 2001) which will be held in Noordwijk, the Netherlands on 2-4 April 2001, and hosted by the European Space Agency (ESA).
The tradition of having regular Workshops on Traveling Wave Tubes at ESA has always produced excellent opportunities for the international tube community to convene in Noordwijk, exchange ideas and establish fruitful contacts for business.
The success of our last Workshop in 1997, jointly organized by ESA and NATO, has shown the interest of the community for a more comprehensive conference.
After 1997 and following some discussions with our colleagues from US, Asia and Russia, the general need to conceive a worldwide Conference on Vacuum Electronics became evident.
Thanks to the initiative of IEEE Electron Devices Society, this materialized in the very successful IVEC 2000, the first International Vacuum Electronics Conference held in Monterey in May 2000, with nearly 400 participants and 180 presentations.
IVEC 2001 is built on the momentum established by the first IVEC, and is aimed at pursuing and extending the concept of a worldwide Conference on Vacuum Electronics.
You will see in this preliminary programme that this three-day event includes a large number of technical sessions and covers the whole spectrum of vacuum electronics applications. The number and the quality of these contributions, ranking from early development studies to finalized new products, confirm the vitality of the field of Vacuum Electronics.
Have a look at this programme, and join us in The Netherlands!
